Join us for a Potluck Banquet with the Church Triumphant
We hope you’ll participate after worship on Sunday, November 4th for our inaugural potluck-style Banquet with the Church Triumphant.
The Church Triumphant is a celebration of members of the church who have died and who are regarded as enjoying eternal happiness through union with God. What better way to celebrate than with a banquet? The Gospel of Matthew repeatedly describes banquets and feasts as being present in the kingdom of heaven and elsewhere, Jesus mentions eating and drinking in the heavenly kingdom.
In this banquet, we will be serving some of the foods that were important to Christians who we have known and loved and who have died before us. We encourage you to bring a memorable dish, written descriptions of the food and of the person who is being memorialized, as well as an explanation of why they have been so important to us. If it is possible to include a list of ingredients and even a recipe, that would be appreciated as well.
As this is a potluck, be sure to bring plenty of food to share with the church family here on earth and in memory of those who have gone before us.
If you’d like your loved one to be included in a slideshow, please email the photo and story to email@example.com by Friday, November 2nd.
We hope you can join us in this joyous celebration.
