Sallie Herring

Wedding Coordinator

Sallie Herring joined the staff at UCC in 1997. She has been a member of the church since 1970, having joined shortly after moving to Austin from Nacogdoches where she attended Stephen F. Austin State University. She has a BA in education and taught school for a few years. She worked in public health for the City of Austin for over 20 years before retiring in December 2005.

Sallie has coordinated over 350 wedding at UCC, some as small as 5 people (including the bride and groom) and some as large as 13 sets of bridesmaids/groomsmen and 350 guests. She says each wedding is unique and brings with it many challenges and rewards. She says, "It's a fun job that I continue to enjoy. I love seeing couples start out their new lives with God as a partner."

Sallie has two sons. Mark is a motorcycle cop in Austin and is married to Jill. Matthew is the head strength and conditioning coach with the University of Florida men's basketball team and he is married to Cindy. Mark and Jill gave Sallie three "perfect grandchildren", Ellie, Abby and Mason. Matthew and Cindy gave her another "perfect grandchild" Laney.

Sallie loves to read, go to the movies, dance, shop for antiques, travel, cook and spend time with family and friends.
